Proverbs 8:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 8 in context

Scripture Focus

7For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Proverbs 8:7-8

Biblical Context

The passage proclaims that truth should come from the mouth and that wickedness is an abomination. All spoken words are to be in righteousness, with nothing froward or perverse.

Neville's Inner Vision

See this verse as a law written in your inner being: the mouth speaks truth when the I AM—your true self—rests as present reality. Wickedness is not a distant enemy but a posture of mind that forgets its divine source; it is an abomination to the lips because it betrays separation from life. When you persist in the I AM, all the words that rise from you carry righteousness; there is no froward or perverse note in your inner speech. This is not about policing speech but about healing the split between conviction and utterance. Your imagination is the instrument by which you claim the reality you desire; speak from the end you seek as if it already is. If you would see the outer world transformed, reverse the inner speech first, until the inner mouth becomes a consistent mirror of truth. Remember: the kingdom you seek is a function of consciousness, and you are the consciousness that speaks it into form.

Practice This Now

Silently assume the I AM and decree, 'My mouth speaks truth; all my words are righteousness; nothing froward or perverse proceeds from me.' Then feel the sense of alignment ripple through your chest as you repeat it.
