Proverbs 7:6

Biblical Context

Proverbs 7:6 shows the speaker peering from the window of his house, observing inner life with discernment. It invites us to watch our thoughts as they arise.

Neville's Inner Vision

At the window of my house I stand in the I AM. The casement is the boundary of awareness; through it I observe the movements of thought—images of naiveté, impulses seeking quick pleasure, and the crowd of judgments that arise when I forget my center. These inner pictures do not control me; I control them by recognizing they originate in my own consciousness. I am the watcher, and by that act I revise the entire climate of my mind. When I observe without accusation, I learn that what unfolds in the world is the outward sign of inner states. By choosing to entertain wiser, steadier images, I awaken discernment that guides all action and keeps me faithful to my divine Self. The window becomes a doorway to the realization that imagination makes reality; as I renew the inner scene, the outer life follows suit, governed by the clarity of my observed thoughts and the steadfastness of my will.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, stand at your inner window, and imagine the thoughts that rise as travelers passing by. Decide one thought to crown with new meaning and feel it real that you now stand in a higher discernment.
