Read Proverbs 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse cautions the inner life not to let the heart drift toward impulse and seductive paths. It urges fidelity to wisdom, purity, and the integrity of your true I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
Proverbs 7:25 speaks to you as the inner man. The 'woman' in the symbol is not another person but a seductive thought that tempts your heart. Your heart is a state of consciousness; the 'ways' and 'paths' she offers are habitual patterns you imagine into being. When you let your heart decline to those ways, you yield to a belief that temptation has power over you. But the I AM—your true awareness—does not move; it remains steady, watching the screen of imagination. You can revise the scene in the imagination: see yourself standing on a higher path, invulnerable, radiant, and undisturbed. This is substitution, not denial: you replace the lure with the conscious recognition of the inner ruler, the I AM. Feeling it real—imagine the guard rising within you, a light at the heart that turns away from fantasy. In that interior alignment, the apparent external pull loses its pull and reality moves toward integrity, purity, and obedience to your true self.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, feel the steady I AM at your heart, and revise the scene to a higher path. See yourself stepping onto the path of integrity, letting temptation dissolve in light.
