Redirecting the Temptation Within
Proverbs 7:24-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Listen to the wise inner voice and avoid the lure that leads away from true life; wandering there wounds the heart and weakens even the strong. The text frames choice as an inner alignment with wisdom that determines one's path.
Neville's Inner Vision
Hear the command 'hearken unto me' as the call of the I AM within. The 'she' and the tempting path are not external temptations alone, but images that arise in your own state of consciousness. If your heart declines to her ways, you have merely yielded to a mental image that promises satisfaction but delivers sorrow; many have been wounded because they believed the image could fulfill them. The warning does not threaten a future you cannot change; it reveals the law of consciousness: you become what you dwell upon. When you identify with the urge, you step into her house—the dream of separation, lack, and decay—and you descend into the chambers of death within your own mind. Instead, restore attention to the I AM, the immutable awareness that you are. Refuse the projection, revise the story, and feel the reality of your unity with love, wisdom, and life. Stand as the observer, and the image loses its power; your true kingdom rises from within.
Practice This Now
Assume the state 'I AM' as your constant, and feel it real now. Then revise the tempting image by declaring, 'I do not incline to her ways,' and picture stepping onto a bright inner path toward life.
