Hungry Thief Within
Proverbs 6:30-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
The verse notes that stealing born of hunger is not despised, but if caught the thief must repay sevenfold and surrender all. This points to an inner law: craving without balance is out of alignment; true restoration comes through fair inner restitution.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the proverb, the thief is a symbol of a hunger that robs the mind of peace. I am not judging the thief; I am witnessing a belief that I am lacking, a hunger that calls for more by claiming separation from the source. The statement that such a thief is not despised when driven by need invites me to realize that every act born of lack can be redeemed by a shift in state. When I discover this belief and refuse to enthrone it, restitution occurs within me as sevenfold joy, balance, and energy returning to center. The inner law of compensation does not punish; it re-aligns my consciousness to the truth that I AM the supply. As I revise the drama—replacing scarcity with abundance and letting go of clutching—the feeling of lack dissolves and new forms begin to appear as if by magic. The final clause, to give all the substance of his house, becomes a symbolic release of old attachments, a rededication of life to the one power I AM. In this, the thief is transformed into a guardian of beauty, returning to me what I already am.
Practice This Now
Assume the scene: I am the I AM, abundantly supplied. Revise the moment of hunger into a realization of fullness, and feel sevenfold restoration as present and visualize letting go of the old house to make room for the new abundance.
