Bitter End: Wormwood and the Sword
Proverbs 5:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse warns that entertaining a corrupt path ends in bitter consequences; the wormwood and two-edged sword symbolize inner bitterness and the double-edged power of desire and speech.
Neville's Inner Vision
You are the I AM, and the verse describes a state of consciousness whose end is bitter wormwood when you believe you are apart from Life. The two-edged sword is the creative power of your imagination and words, capable of cutting both the image you cherish and your sense of self. When you indulge thoughts that erode integrity, you unleash currents that return as pain, judgment, and remorse. This is not punishment but law: by affirming your unity with the Life that dwells in you, you turn the knife toward the false image and dull its edge. Choose purity and discernment, and the bitter end dissolves as you wake to the sweetness of I AM present in all you do. The moment you assume responsibility, you align with Reality and the end becomes a realization rather than a penalty.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and assume 'I am the I AM in whom all ends and beginnings are formed.' Revise any tempting thought by declaring, 'This thought cannot separate me from Life; I choose wisdom and integrity now.' Visualize wormwood dissolving into clear water and the sword turning into a plowshare of compassion.
