Neville's Inner Vision
See these lines as commands of your inner state. The froward mouth and perverse lips signal rebellious states; you do not fight them with willpower alone, you renounce them in inner agreement. When you look right on, imagine you are looking through the space of your desired state; your attention rests on the end you intend as present now. See with steady gaze and let your eyelids look straight ahead, refusing to drift into doubt. Ponder the path of thy feet invites you to rehearse the sequence of acts in your mind until every move aligns with your ideal. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left signifies inner constancy, choosing a single line of action your affirmed state. And remove thy foot from evil declares that you quit the station of fear, scarcity, or guilt by renouncing the images that feed them. In truth, the verse is a manual for consciousness: you become what you repeatedly imagine and feel. By assuming the end and dwelling there, you live from the future as a present fact.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, repeat I am the I AM; my words are true, my gaze is straight, and my steps are established in integrity. Then feel this state as already real.
