Biblical Context
Proverbs 4:20-23 invites you to attend to the inner guidance, keep it before your eyes and in your heart, and recognize that life and health flow from the state you maintain within. By guarding the heart, you safeguard the conditions of your experiences.
Neville's Inner Vision
These verses are a call to your inner state. Attend to my words—fix your awareness on the living instructions within the I AM that you are. Incline your ear to my sayings—listen for the voice of guidance within, not the noise of doubt. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart—keep a mental image of the truth in sight and a felt sense of its reality in your chest. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh—when your consciousness finds the truth, vitality flows through your body. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life—your external world reflects the quality of your inner listening and belief. Thus, the inner decision, not fate, writes the script you live by. If you persist in this alignment, your life will reorganize itself around the created image; you become what you consistently imagine.
Practice This Now
Choose one line (e.g., 'Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life') and assume the feeling that it is already true. Sit with a warm light at your chest, repeat the line, and feel life and health flowing from your heart into your body.
