Biblical Context
The passage contrasts those who cannot rest unless they cause harm with those who walk in light; the just path grows brighter toward full daylight, while the wicked wander in darkness.
Neville's Inner Vision
View the lines as a map of your inner states. The claim that they sleep not unless they have done mischief is the stubborn energy of fear and ego, the wakeful mind that clings to control through hurt. When you identify with such thoughts, sleep vanishes because guilt and agitation keep the mind on guard. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence—these are the inner sustenances of a life lived by lack, competition, and force. This is not about condemning others; it is a revelation of a consciousness that profits from drama. But the path of the just is the shining light that grows brighter as you dwell in the I AM, the aware presence that you are. As you refuse to act from fear and choose alignment with inner truth, light expands, doubts dissolve, and the day you seek—perfect day—unfolds. Discernment becomes your guide, truth and faithfulness your habitual posture, and righteousness your inner weather. The way of the wicked remains in darkness only as long as you entertain it; step into your dawn and you walk in daylight.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the I AM as the light that never sleeps. Revise any memory of being dragged by mischief by affirming, 'I am the light; my path grows brighter now.' Feel it real.
