Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Those who are wicked do not sleep unless they have caused mischief. They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Look at these lines as a description of a state of consciousness, not a procession of people. The 'sleep' of the wicked is a restless hangover of fear—an inner movement that will not rest until it has caused another to fall. The 'bread' of wickedness and the 'wine' of violence are not literal foods but the energy sustained by domination, greed, and the belief that one's security comes from another's downfall. In Neville's method, every outward event is the outward sign of an inward assumption. If you recognize this as your own inner motion, you can revise it by returning to the I AM, the awareness behind all forms, and declare: I am one with the I AM; in this unity there is no need to harm or to fear. As you assume this truth, the impulse to injure dissolves and sleep returns as serene, radiant awareness. The practical result is not punishment for others, but a change of heart that makes the external stream reflect inner harmony and justice.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and revise: 'I am the I AM; my sleep is secure in unity with all life.' Feel that warm light dissolving every impulse to harm as you rest in this oneness.
