Proverbs 30:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 30 in context

Scripture Focus

4Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
Proverbs 30:4

Biblical Context

God’s power and sovereignty are beyond human reach. The questions reveal that the Creator orders heaven, wind, waters, and earth, and that His name—whether understood or not—points to an inner source of all order.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, Proverbs 30:4 invites you to turn from seeking external proofs and to recognize that the questions are inner cues. Ascending to heaven, descending, gathering the wind, binding the waters—these are pictures of your own inner acts of consciousness. The I AM is the only reality, the eternal Name you are. When you ask, 'What is His name, and His Son's name, if thou canst tell?' you are really asking, 'Who am I when I am fully conscious of being?' Your awareness orders the elements of your life by the state you hold. Nature obeys the dominant idea in your mind. Therefore, the verse is not about external geography but about the sovereignty of your inner state. The Father and the Son within you are names for your own I AM and its focal point—your imagined clear identity. As you live in the certainty that you are the creator, all things appear to come under your command. Practice seeing the universe mirror your feeling of being.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and adopt the assumption: I AM that I AM. Feel your consciousness ordering the inner weather—wind, waters, and terrain—until it aligns with your settled sense of being.
