Inner Ways of Wonder

Proverbs 30:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 30 in context

Scripture Focus

18There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
19The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
Proverbs 30:18-19

Biblical Context

It presents four marvels—the ascent of the eagle, the serpent on stone, a ship at sea, and the bond of a man with a maid—wonders whose workings elude easy explanation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Three things are too wonderful for me; they can be seen as inner movements of consciousness. The eagle's way is the rising of awareness, a vantage point that lets you perceive the whole scene. The serpent's way on a rock is the steady, patient contact of life with form, adaptive and unhurried. The ship's way through the sea is your power to steer intention through thought and feeling, guided by an inner I AM. The way of a man with a maid points to a harmonious union with your desire, the alignment of inner consent with outward manifestation. The wonder lies not in external events, but in recognizing these patterns as states of consciousness you can enter and revise until your world rearranges itself.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume you are the eagle, viewing your life from above and seeing the outcome as already real. Then revise one current situation by feeling its victory and letting the I AM affirm it inwardly.
