Inner Purity Beyond Self-Righteousness
Proverbs 30:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Some people view themselves as pure, yet inwardly they remain unwashed by truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville Goddard, this verse points to a state of consciousness in which a generation believes itself pure while its inner being remains unwashed by truth. The generation is an image of the ego, a self-image that insists on purity from external standards yet shuns inner cleansing through awareness. The I AM, your true identity as consciousness, knows there is no purification apart from realizing unity with God within. When you identify with the self-righteous image, you are not washed, for washing comes by revising your sense of self until what you behold in life reflects your awareness. The remedy is to turn the eye inward and refuse to fix blame on others; instead, revise your own self-image until you feel the living water of consciousness flowing through you. In that moment, you see purity as a function of your state of awareness, not a badge earned by moral posturing. Holiness and truthfulness arise spontaneously from recognizing that you are the I AM in expression; separation dissolves, and true integrity remains.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, take a slow breath, and assume the feeling that you are washed by the living water of awareness. Affirm I am the I AM, and purity is my state of consciousness, not a badge I wear.
