I Am Health: Proverbs 3:7-8

Proverbs 3:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 3 in context

Scripture Focus

7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Proverbs 3:7-8

Biblical Context

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. This alignment brings health to the body and vitality to the bones.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the consciousness that would claim mastery by cleverness, this line speaks of a shift: let the intellect bow to the I AM and fear the LORD as reverent awareness of your own divine nature. When you depart from evil—i.e., detach from imaginal miscreations, from fears and hostile pictures—you stop feeding a self-made disease with your attention. In the world of imagination, health is not a remedy you seek; it is the natural expression of a state fully aligned with God, a state in which the spine is supported by the serene power of I AM. The "navel" and the "bones" symbolize your inner center and structure; to dwell in the awareness of your true self is to refresh those centers. The verse does not command external obedience so much as inner alignment: surrender the habit of thinking you're separate from God, and the body follows with healing life. Your responsibility is to assume the state of health you desire, and allow it to unfold as evidence of your oneness with the I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and imagine the I AM filling your core, saying quietly, 'I AM health.' Hold that feeling until a sense of vibrancy returns to your navel and bones, and then live from that state as if it were your ordinary reality.
