Biblical Context
The verse contrasts outward behavior with inner posture: the scorner is rejected, the humble are graced; the wise inherit glory, fools bring shame. It speaks to inner states shaping destiny rather than external measures.
Neville's Inner Vision
Forget outward scorn and praise. The book is teaching you that you are not dealing with persons but with states of consciousness. The 'scorner' is a habit of judgment, the 'lowly' a quiet openness to possibility. Grace descends not from without but from within, as you align your awareness with the I AM that you are. When you imagine yourself as the humble receiver of grace, you invite favor; when you dwell in the feeling of being the wise, you inherit 'glory'—the natural recognition of your true state. The 'shame of fools' appears only as you resist your own inner truth. So, let your inner world revise the outer by assumption: see yourself already graced, already glorious, and let the feeling of that reality swell until it subsumes your sense of lack. The verse becomes a map of your inner kingdom, where humility and discernment are the doors to living realization.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: For 3–5 minutes, close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am grace received.' Let that sense of humility being favored by the I AM sweep through you and embody the feeling of being glorious in your heart.
