Proverbs 3:3

Biblical Context

Mercy and truth should accompany you always; keep them near as guiding virtues written in your heart.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine that mercy and truth are not external laws but inner states of consciousness you claim as your reality. When Proverbs 3:3 says, Let not mercy and truth forsake thee, it speaks to the I AM within you—the awareness that you are already merciful and truthful. Binding them about thy neck is an image of allegiance, a decision you wear as a visible sign in your life, so that your speech and deeds constantly declare these qualities. Writing them upon the table of thine heart is a revision of the subconscious, where a new memory of yourself is placed. You do not strive to become merciful; you assume the truth of your existing mercy and truth and let the outer world conform to that inner state. Every moment is a chance to reinforce this: notice judgment, revise, forgive, and tell yourself that mercy and truth are your permanent companions. The result is harmony: discernment will align with compassion, and life will reflect the mercy you embody.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are merciful and truthful; repeat 'I am mercy, I am truth' until you feel it as fact, then imagine a necklace of light around your neck inscribed with those words and an inner heart inscription.
