Proverbs 3:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 3 in context

Scripture Focus

27Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
Proverbs 3:27-28

Biblical Context

Proverbs 3:27-28 urges timely generosity: do not withhold good when you can give, nor delay helping a neighbor until tomorrow.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's terms, the verse is not a command to perform a charity out there, but a reminder that all 'good' is born from the inner state you inhabit. When it is in the power of thine hand to do it, that power is the present I AM—your awareness that can lend, supply, or soften another's burden. To withhold is to contract your consciousness; to give is to expand it. The neighbor you meet is a mirror of your own inner abundance; when you respond, you are aligning with the creative act by which imagination becomes form. Do not speak to your neighbor, 'Go and come again tomorrow,' for you are already wealth in action in this moment; delay is only a dream of scarcity. See yourself as the source, the channel, the Son/daughter of Life; the act of giving confirms the reality you choose to live: a world where need is met by the inexhaustible I AM within you. Your charity is self-recognition, not Faustian debt; you awaken by giving, and giving awakens you.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of abundance now and give something tangible to someone in need today. Notice how your sense of lack dissolves as you act from the I AM.
