Biblical Context
Two inner states—poor and deceitful—meet in consciousness. The Lord lightens the observer's inner sight.
Neville's Inner Vision
Two inner states meet in the same moment—poverty and deceit—yet they are only attitudes of consciousness, not separate people. When I acknowledge that I am the I AM to which all eye-light belongs, the Lord lightens both eyes: my awareness grows clear on what was hidden by fear and self-deception. This light is not coming from outside; it is my own awareness intensified by faith and steady attention. The poor state shows where I have misplaced value; the deceitful state shows where I have clung to fantasies rather than truth. By embracing them without condemnation and by assuming that I am the light that illumines them, I cause a shift in the inner atmosphere. The meeting of these states becomes the turning point; perception expands, judgments soften, and guidance flows from within. Providence is simply awareness choosing to see differently. As I practice feeling it real that I already am the light, the outside world reflects that inner conversion, proving that every encounter within is an invitation to awaken.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and imagine the 'poor' and 'deceitful' aspects as present within you. Then revise by affirming: 'The I AM lightens my eyes now,' and feel the clarity spreading through your mind and heart.
