Biblical Context
Proverbs 29:12 shows that when a ruler hearkens to lies, the whole administration becomes wicked. A single belief shapes the outer order.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take the image as your own inner state: the ruler represents your central I AM, the awareness that governs your inner life. When this ruler hearkens to lies—persistent false beliefs, fear, self-judgment—the entire household of your thoughts and impulses becomes wicked, disordered, and reactive. In truth, a world that seems governed by deceit is only a projection of inner confusion. Neville’s method says: awaken to the fact that you are not at the mercy of stories you tell yourself. Change begins when you revise the assumed ruler to listen only to truth. Imagination is the throne-room where you decree order; when you affirm that truth is present and recognized in every circumstance, you shift the inner movements that produce outer conditions. The “servants” are habits, beliefs, and conditions reflecting your mood; make a new assumption, and they snap to align with it. As you dwell in the consciousness that the I AM rules by truth, your world follows suit without struggle, and deception loses its hold.
Practice This Now
Assume, in clear inner speech, that the ruler within you listens only to truth; revise a current situation by feeling it already governed by order, and stay with that sensation until it becomes your normal state.
