Read Proverbs 28 in context

Scripture Focus

9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Proverbs 28:9

Biblical Context

Turning away from the inner law makes prayer hollow or unacceptable.

Neville's Inner Vision

To turn away the ear from hearing the law is to turn away from the I AM within. The 'law' is not external command but the living order of your own consciousness guiding every thought, feeling, and imagination. When you refuse it—when you pretend you know better or resist correction—you render prayer into noise, a form without substance, because you have denied the condition by which desire becomes reality. In this light, prayer is not begging an external God but maintaining a steady state of awareness that aligns your imagining with truth. Your prayers rise only as you consent to the law you already are, revising doubt and dwelling in the end you seek as if it were yours now. The moment you listen, you become a vessel through which inner order translates into outward experience. Therefore, obedience to the inner law is the doorway through which your petitions are answered by your own awareness, and your life begins to reflect what you have chosen to hear and believe.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and listen to the inner law; revise any doubt and feel that your desired state is already yours.
