Biblical Context
Honoring parents is essential, while pride and self-reliance bring strife. Trust in the LORD, walk wisely, and give to the poor, and you will experience guidance, deliverance, and provision.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed as a map of states of consciousness, Proverbs 28:24-27 shows that what you call 'father' and 'mother' are your inner authorities—the higher modes of life within you. To say 'it is no transgression' while denying their guidance is to align with the destroyer of your own realization—the fear, the rational ego that excuses neglect. A proud heart stirs strife because it lives under the illusion that you must fight for yourself; but trust in the LORD is the state in which your inner energy is fed and multiplied. To trust your own heart is to worship a small, unstable self; the wise walk is to refrain from egoic certainty and to move with the larger, directing power of I AM. Giving to the poor is your willingness to let your inner riches circulate—an outward action that mirrors your inner generosity and opens channels of supply. If you hide your eyes, you cut yourself off from the flow and invite scarcity. The remedy is simple: assume that you already inhabit the abundant state of God, feel that truth, and let your imagination confirm it in form.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the state of abundant trust now. Silently revise any lack thought with, 'I am the generous flow of God; I trust the I AM,' and feel that reality as already true.
