Inner Confession, Outer Prosperity

Proverbs 28:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 28 in context

Scripture Focus

13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 28:13-14

Biblical Context

Concealing sins blocks prosperity; confessing and forsaking them invites mercy. Those who fear the Lord stay blessed, while a hard heart invites mischief.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that to cover sins is to deny your present state of consciousness. When you confess and forsake, you are not appealing to a distant judge, you are shifting your inner state. The I AM within you remains unaffected by outward appearances; you awaken it by naming the thought you have refused to own and then choosing its opposite feeling. Feareth alway is not craven apprehension but a steady reverence for God as your awareness. Your life reflects the quality of your inner state; mercy follows when you refuse to harden your heart and align with the truth that you are already forgiven in consciousness. If you imagine yourself as the man who chooses mercy now, you dissolve the momentum of mischief by a simple revision: I AM forgiven; I AM free; I choose mercy and blessing. Do this and notice the outer scene responding, for the inward conviction sets the outer world on a new current.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and revise the scene in present tense: I AM forgiven; I AM free; I choose mercy and blessing. Rest in that state for a minute and let the feeling of mercy rise to the forefront of your awareness.
