Read Proverbs 27 in context

Scripture Focus

12A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Proverbs 27:12

Biblical Context

Prudent forethought prevents trouble while the naive move ahead and meet consequences, illustrating the power of inner choice.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville Goddard perspective, evil is a movement of consciousness, not an external attack. A prudent man foresees the evil when he catches the subtle tremor of fear, lack, or conflict arising in his imagination. To hide himself is to withdraw attention from that tremor and rest in the I AM—the unchanging awareness that you are. The contrast with the simple who pass on is not about virtue or weakness, but about where attention dwells: in the imagined danger or in the eternal present of being. By changing the inner forecast—your assumption of what is possible—you rewrite the scene. The punishment spoken of is the natural result of living from a belief in danger; when you persist in that belief, its effects appear. But when you dwell in the awareness that you are already complete, you send a new vibration, and the evil you foresaw dissolves as you stand in your true, unconditional I AM.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene: you are safe, the issue is resolved, and you rest in the I AM. Feel the reality of that state until it becomes your present.
