Biblical Context
Proverbs 26:23-26 warns that outward charm can cloak inner deceit, and that true motives reveal themselves in speech and deeds. The passage invites honesty and inner integrity to align what you are with what you say.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the words you utter and the heart that beats behind them are two faces of one state of consciousness. When the verse speaks of burning lips and a wicked heart, it is pointing to the split within consciousness between appearance and true motive. The potsherd covered with silver dross is your outer personality polished by tradition or habit but lacking the inner purity of alignment with the I AM. Hatred disguising itself by smiling speech is a sign that inner judgments have not been transformed; you dissemble with your lips while your inner state stores deceit. Neville would say: do not try to fix the outer words; revise the inner state. If you hear a temptation to deceit or to self-serving flattery, you are simply aware of a misalignment between your surface self and your essential I AM presence. The seven abominations are not external punishments but inner distortions awaiting correction by a single act of alignment: know yourself as the I AM, and let truth reveal itself in every word and action. When the inner state is pure, the congregation of life witnesses your genuine integrity.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the I AM is the governing state of your being, and that no deceit resides in you. Sit, feel that alignment, and imagine your next words flowing as truthful expression from that inner truth.
