Inner Dwelling Guarded by Peace

Proverbs 24:15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 24 in context

Scripture Focus

15Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
Proverbs 24:15

Biblical Context

Proverbs 24:15 warns not to ambush the righteous or disturb their rest; it speaks to preserving inner peace from disturbance and attack.

Neville's Inner Vision

Lay not wait is not a warning about external enemies but a call to observe the state of your own consciousness. The 'dwelling of the righteous' is your inner resting place, a state of awareness where the I AM abides in quiet certainty. The 'wicked man' is the pattern of doubt, fear, or resentment that would lay siege to this peace. Do not identify thoughts as a person and do not permit intruders to take up residence in your mind. Guard your inner sanctuary by affirming that you are the I AM, and your peace cannot be touched by any disturbance. When disturbance arises, revise the scene by recognizing the self-existent presence within you, and feel the boundary of your consciousness unbreached. The wicked plotting dissolves into light as you stay with the felt sense of your resting place. In this practice, your mind becomes a fortress of clarity, and the righteous rest remains intact, accessible here and now as your true state of being.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM is guarding your inner dwelling now; revise any sense of disturbance by affirming, 'No intruder can enter my consciousness; I rest in the I AM,' and feel the peace as real.
