Biblical Context
Don't be swayed by outward hospitality from someone whose inner intention is misaligned; true nourishment comes from aligning your mind with the I AM, for thoughts in the heart determine what you truly become.
Neville's Inner Vision
Proverbs 23:6-8 invites you to notice how you felt and what you believed about the giver, for 'eat not with an evil eye' is a call to discernment in the theater of your own consciousness. You are not captive to another's hunger or to their outward kindness; you are the one who thinks the thoughts that frame your world. When you sense a host whose heart is not with the bread, you are free to withdraw from the belief that their attention is real unless you have assumed a higher state. The 'morsel' you swallow is your agreement with a state of mind that does not honor your I AM. Therefore, revise by returning to the awareness that you are the thinker, the creator, and the I AM behind every appetite and every word. Decide in you that right relationship is an inner agreement, not a social show. As you, the consciousness, assume the presence of divine discernment, you alter the conditions in your life, and the words that once entangled you resolve into clarity.
Practice This Now
Practice: In a moment of temptation or flattery, close your eyes, breathe, and repeat: 'I am the I AM; I choose discernment; I see through appearances.' Then affirm that you align with a higher state of love and truth, and watch how the situation shifts.
