Proverbs 22:22

Biblical Context

Proverbs 22:22 warns not to oppress the poor or the afflicted. It calls us to respond with fairness and mercy at the gates of our choices.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the quiet of your own consciousness, wealth is not measured by coin but by the state you inhabit. When the verse says not to rob the poor or oppress the afflicted at the gate, it is teaching that the 'poor' and 'afflicted' are inner feelings of lack passing through the gates of your decisions. You are the I AM, the boundless awareness that can either tighten into scarcity or open into abundance. To oppress the inner poor is to cling to a thought-form that says 'I have not enough,' and to push that form through the gate of your daily choices. The true action is to revise that state within; to acknowledge that you are complete, and that the same consciousness can provide for all beings, including the parts of you still in want. By assuming a state of abundance—and by recognizing the other's need as your own insight—you align with the law of imagination and awaken righteousness and justice in your world. Your inner economy follows your inner decree.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume abundance. Imagine a gate opening in your mind and your generosity flowing to the inner poor until fullness is felt here and now.
