Biblical Context
Proverbs 22:17-21 invites you to listen to wise counsel, keep its truths within, and trust the LORD as your inner guide. What is spoken to you becomes your own spoken truth when kept in the heart.
Neville's Inner Vision
Listen to the inner counsel as the true voice of your I AM. Bow down the ear is an act of inward attention, a surrender of the outer noise to the inner teacher who speaks in the language of consciousness. Hear the words of the wise and apply thy heart unto my knowledge: let understanding descend into feeling and become your living principle. When you keep them within thee, they shall be fitted in thy lips—what you have consented to in imagination becomes your spoken word when life requires it. This is the meaning of trust: that your confidence is in the LORD, the I AM that you are, recognizing that all excellent counsels and truths are already inscribed within your being. The certainty of the words of truth arises as you dwell in the state of their truth; you answer not by argument, but by alignment, and others receive your steady, inner-voiced words as truth.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, breathe, and imagine you are hearing the wise inner voice. Assume the counsel is already written within you; revise any doubt by repeating, 'This truth is mine now,' then speak its words softly to yourself as if writing a letter to someone who sends unto you.
