Scripture Focus

16He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
Proverbs 22:16

Biblical Context

Proverbs 22:16 warns that oppressing the poor to gain riches, or giving to the rich to gain favor, results in personal lack. True prosperity comes from upright inner alignment and the just use of wealth.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville lens, this verse exposes that wealth is a state of consciousness, not a coin in hand. When you oppress the poor to increase riches, you are simply tightening the lid on your own I AM, cutting off the inexhaustible overflow of supply that comes from the inner kingdom. To reward the few while denying the many is to worship separation, and separation is the dream of lack. Likewise, to give to the rich as a mere transaction is to treat abundance as a scarce resource allocated by appearances, not by the law of your own awareness. The law here is fair and merciful: you reap according to your inner state. If you feel the world is exploitable and scarce, that is what you will experience. If you awaken to your I AM as all-providing, you will stop the outward games and allow money, health, and opportunity to flow into every corner of your being and your world, including those who seem unworthy.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Stand in front of a mirror and declare, 'I am the source of all wealth; every seeming oppressor or favored receiver is but a role played by the one I am.' Then feel the reality of abundance flowing through you now.
