No Lion Without: Inner Courage
Proverbs 22:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes a lazy man who excuses inaction by imagining a lion in the streets. It shows how fear can become a justification for not acting.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the seeker, Proverbs 22:13 is not a warning about a lion out there but a signal that the mind of slothfulness creates its own danger. The 'lion' you fear is a projection of an inner state: the belief that you are at the mercy of circumstances rather than the witness and master of your consciousness. The slothful man remains bound by the outer image because he identifies with the image, not with the I AM that is aware. Your task is to shift the center of gravity from the image to the awareness that observes it. Assume the opposite of the fear as your living truth; revise the scene by recognizing that there is no external lion, only the thought you gave power to. As you persist in this inner revision, the new state—self-reliant, attentive, and undaunted—begins to permeate your streets. Imagination becomes your real world by constant inner conviction; you do not fight the lion, you dissolve its illusion by dwelling in the I AM that never falters.
Practice This Now
Practice: close your eyes, repeat, 'There is no lion; I am the I AM,' and feel the assurance as if it is already so. Then proceed with a small action-sized step to demonstrate courage in your day.
