Youthful Strength, Elder Wisdom

Proverbs 20:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 20 in context

Scripture Focus

29The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
Proverbs 20:29

Biblical Context

The verse speaks of two complementary glories: youthful vigor and elder wisdom. Both express dignity in the human spirit when seen as states of consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the I AM is not divided; it simply shifts from one state to another, and both are the same God-flame. The 'glory' of youth is the surge of vibration, the belief in one's ability to act, create, and endure; the 'grey head' of age is the serene compass that weighs choices, discerns truth, and gently guides. In Neville's lens, both are performances of the I AM. You can switch between them by one simple act: assume. Decide now to dwell as the one who is vigorous and capable, and allow the body and mind to align with that conviction. Or, if you prefer wisdom, linger in the awareness that all experience has refined you and that you are guided by an unseen, faithful presence. The key is to feel the realness of that state until it exceeds any current appearance. Your present life is an imagination in action, and you are the author.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of vitality and wisdom as one ongoing state: I AM strong and I AM wise. Revise any story of lack by declaring 'From this moment, I am both vigorous and discerning, guided by the I AM'.
