Scripture Focus

19He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
Proverbs 20:19

Biblical Context

Verse 20:19 warns that a talebearer reveals secrets, and those who flatter should not be trusted. It calls you to guard your inner state and refuse participation in another's gossip.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice what the talebearer does in this verse: by repeating another's secrets, he exposes the state of his own mind. You are not summoned to join his stage; you are the I AM, the still wakefulness through which events occur. When you hear gossip or flattery, you are being offered a moment to prove whether you believe reality is a shared carnival of secrets or a sanctuary of truth. If you entertain it, you are lending life to a dream of separation; if you withdraw, you confirm that your consciousness is indivisible and that all voices rise within the one mind. The remedy is simple: assume the authority of the observer, revise the scene in your imagination, and feel that you are kept safe from revelations you neither sought nor need. As you hold to the inner awareness that you are the I AM, you will notice your environment aligning to integrity, trust, and clarity, while gossip loses its power to move you.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: In your next talk, declare silently, 'I do not lend my ear to secrets,' and feel the boundary of your I AM enclosing your mind; then revise the moment by imagining the scene reframed in truth.
