Deeds Reveal Inner Child

Proverbs 20:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 20 in context

Scripture Focus

11Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
Proverbs 20:11

Biblical Context

The verse asserts that a child is known by his actions; what a person does reveals whether their work is pure or right.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider that the 'child' is not a mere boy or girl, but the newborn awareness—the I AM—that resides in you. Proverbs tells us that the state of a person is not hidden by age but disclosed by what they do. When your attention is still, the inner child acts with purity and rightness in the form of every choice and gesture. If you find yourself performing a deed that contradicts your deepest sense, you are not condemned; you are simply seeing the inner condition your present consciousness has assumed. The solution is to revise the state, not the deed. Assume you are the pure, right action now. Feel that you are the ethical principle in motion, manifesting as harmony, honesty, and kindness in daily acts. Your outer world mirrors the inner state, so guard the images you accept as true. When you strengthen the feeling that you are the I AM—the witness and source of all right action—your next acts will reveal a pure and rightful course, just as the verse promises.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume you are the pure, right action in this moment, and feel that the deed is already done with integrity. Let that inner state guide your next action as evidence of the inner child’s true state.
