Biblical Context
This verse says that by reverent awe for the LORD you come to understand and know God. It points to an inner shift rather than external attainment.
Neville's Inner Vision
To understand the 'fear of the LORD' is to stand in the awe of your own I AM, the awareness that never changes. The 'LORD' is not a distant ruler but the inner law of consciousness you honor as the I AM. When you assume the end and feel it real, the knowledge of God grows from within—it's not a card to be learned, but a recognition that you are one with divinity. The verse says, in effect, that this reverence clears the mind of agitation and opens the sight to inner truth. With consistent inner posture, you'll discern the quality and direction of your life, recognizing guidance, protection, and concord as the natural expression of your state. This is Neville's technique: revise the outer by insisting on your inner reality; imagine the end as already accomplished; and dwell in the feeling of 'I AM' here and now. By this, the 'fear' becomes awe-struck trust and knowledge becomes intimate experience; you are awakening to your own God-ward nature.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare 'I AM the knowledge of God within me,' and feel awe for this I AM; hold for several minutes, watching thoughts settle as understanding arises.
