Biblical Context
An ungodly witness scorns judgment, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. It points to how damaged inner speech and false discernment nourish sin.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your true self is the I AM, the observer who witnesses without condemnation. When you identify with a state that scorns judgment, you become the ungodly witness. In that state your words serve the very fear you fear, for the mouth declares the inner belief. The 'wicked' mouth devours iniquity because it is fed by separation and belief in lack. The remedy is to align with a different inner witness: imagine the I AM as the only judge within you, one who sees rightly and speaks in accord with truth. By assuming you are the witness who does not condemn, judgments that once felt necessary dissolve, and your speech becomes a creator of order rather than a distributor of sin. Practice a revision: when a thought or self-talk arises that scorns justice, replace it with I now witness with perfect discernment; my words bring truth and harmony. Feel it real and let it settle into your inner life, transforming perception and speech into a steady instrument of justice and peace.
Practice This Now
Assume the role of the true witness: silently declare, I am the witness who sees truth with mercy. If you catch yourself judging or speaking harshly, revise instantly to I now witness with discernment and speak truth.
