Biblical Context
Proverbs 19:19 warns that a man ruled by great wrath will suffer punishment. Delivering him again only repeats the pattern.
Neville's Inner Vision
Plainly, the proverb speaks of a man possessed by wrath who suffers its fruit. But in the temple of my own consciousness, this is not about him out there; it is about a state I harbor within me—the belief that anger must punish or be punished. When I attempt to rescue the wrathful, I am only feeding the same state, reinforcing its habit of reappearing. The I AM—my true awareness—is not moved by the outer drama; it remains unchanged and observes. To break the cycle, I do not chase consequences or manage the other’s behavior; I revise the inner scene. I imagine the man as already free from wrath, and I assume that this inner state of peace has already taken root in me and in him. The moment I dwell in the feeling of calm, the energy of wrath loses its grip, and the external scene follows. The law here is simple: you cannot deliver the outer pattern until you deliver the inner pattern. The change begins in imagination and ends in experience.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and say, I am the I AM; wrath is dissolved in me. Then envision the wrathful person as already calm, and rest in the feeling of that truth.
