The Castle of Offense
Proverbs 18:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Proverbs 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A brother offended is hard to win back; quarrels form bars around the relationship, making reconciliation difficult.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your inner world is the only kingdom you inhabit. When a brother is offended, you are not faced with a stubborn person but with a stubborn state of consciousness you have rehearsed about him. The 'offense' is merely a content of imagination; the bars and gates you see are the beliefs you keep about separation. To win him is to shift your inner posture from grievance to grace. Picture the desired reconciliation as existing now in your awareness: see him as whole, see the bond as renewed, hear the tone of peace as if it is already real. This is not denial but revision: you assume the end you desire and let your feeling tone match it until you feel it real. The moment you inhabit the feeling of forgiveness—the I AM witnessing unity—your inner city loosens its bars, and the outer actor will respond accordingly. Remember: you imagine the world; the world follows your inner state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the scene: see your brother returning, hear him speak with calm, feel the relief of unity in your chest. Repeat, I forgive; the bond is restored, and I am at peace.
