The Gift That Opens Doors

Proverbs 18:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 18 in context

Scripture Focus

16A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
Proverbs 18:16

Biblical Context

Proverbs 18:16 teaches that a generous gift creates space for you and brings you into the presence of influential people or opportunities.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the verse as a map of the inner kingdom. The 'gift' is your proposed act of value, the aura you project from the I AM within. When you imagine giving—whether advice, skill, or encouragement—you are not producing favors; you are impressing your own consciousness with the certainty that you belong in the circle of opportunity. The 'room' is the changed state of mind that makes space in your world, and 'great men' are the elevated states of awareness—guidance, recognition, alignment with the larger order you imagine. The door does not rely on others; it follows the assumption that you now possess access. So, hold the feeling that you are already there, that your gift has already opened the room; let that feeling saturate your day, and notice doors loosening, conversations turning toward your value, and paths appearing where none seemed before. Your imagination is the architect; your I AM is the gatekeeper; with one faithful revision, you become the room.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Place your hand on your heart, close your eyes, and declare, 'I AM the gift that opens doors. I am now in the room with great ones.' Then, dwell in the feeling of being welcomed, and carry that as you move through the day.
