You are not asking the body to heal; you are inviting the I AM to illuminate the whole field of your being, so that even infirmity is seen as an appearance in the light of consciousness. The work is mental: persist in the assumption that you are the I AM, that health is your natural state, and that the wound dissolves as your awareness returns to itself.
