Biblical Context
Proverbs 17:7 says that excellent speech does not fit a fool, and lying lips do not suit a prince. It links outward speech to inner character.
Neville's Inner Vision
View the verse through the lens that you are not merely speaking words, but states of consciousness. When you perceive yourself as the I AM, a prince in your own kingdom, the quality of your speech reveals your inner alignment. A fool’s speech arises from a split mind—desire in one chamber, fear in another—so it cannot be excellent, for it betrays the internal confusion. Lying lips, even for a prince, are the echo of a counterfeit authority; they show you are not ruling from your true self, but from a false image that crumbles under pressure. The solution is not to polish the lips but to adjust the inner state until truth and integrity are non-negotiable. Your words then carry the weight of the king in the meditation of the I AM, shifting circumstances by simply being consistent with the truth you inhabit. When you practice this, the outer world follows the inward decree: speech becomes clarity, power, and harmony, and you stand as the sovereign you already are.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of I AM speaking through you: truth, not fear, guides your lips. Then revise any planned falsehood and feel-it-real by silently declaring a truthful sentence and picturing it shaping your world.
