The verse states that a wicked person accepts a gift to twist the path of justice.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the word gift is a symbol of a favored belief or a seductive image you offer to your own mind. A wicked man is a state of consciousness that licenses bribes to pervert the court of judgment. When you concede to a gift, you transfer authority from the I AM—the unalterable awareness—to a conditioned desire, and thus you corrupt the inner verdict. In Neville's view, God is not out there judging but the I AM within you, and imagination is the instrument by which you shape reality. To reclaim integrity, you must stop paying with appearances and return to the true judge: your own consciousness, now aligned with wholeness. See the scene as if you are witnessing a trial and choose to withhold any gift that would distort truth. By assuming the state of impartial observer, you release the urge to buy outcomes and permit just outcomes to arise as effects of your inner alignment. The change you seek is already within, awaiting your settled conviction.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, picture the inner court, and declare that I AM is the judge and no gift can alter true judgment. Feel the certainty of that revised state as your immediate reality.
