Inner Pride, Inner Law

Proverbs 16:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Proverbs 16 in context

Scripture Focus

5Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Proverbs 16:5

Biblical Context

Pride in the heart is an inner state that the LORD rejects. Outward alliances cannot escape the inner consequences.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner Bible of the mind, the LORD is the I AM within you, and pride is a posture of separation. When you entertain a thought of superiority, you stand apart from the living reality of God present as awareness. This detachment brings its own punishment as misalignment: you feel hollow, you sense judgment coming as life's events echo your inward claim of self-sufficiency. But the law is merciful: you can revoke the state by assuming the opposite now. Decide that you are not the proud image you fear to lose; you are the I AM aware of all you are and all you shall be. Revise the memory of worthiness from outward proof to inward alignment; imagine yourself living from the consciousness that you are already loved, capable, and guided. As you dwell in that feeling, the external world rearranges to reflect the new inner order. Pride yields to unity; punishment dissolves into harmony as the I AM answers your call.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the I AM; I am humble and receptive to guidance.' Feel your wholeness as you revise the memory of pride, then step into the day knowing your life is governed by inner law.
