The Inner Word Realized
Proverbs 16:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Proverbs 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
That verse says the inner heart’s preparations come from the LORD within. The spoken words that follow are produced by that inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
The verse is not a rule about outward plans but a law of inner life: the present condition of your consciousness—the quiet preparation of the heart—is the source of every spoken word. The LORD spoken of is the I AM within you, the creative fountain of awareness. When you align with that I AM, your heart becomes calm, faithful, and ready, and your tongue answers from that state rather than from fear or habit. If your speech betrays doubt, you are simply disagreeing with your inner state; revise it by affirming, 'I am the I AM; my heart is prepared by divine truth; my words carry that truth.' Speak as the echo of your inner alignment, and observe how circumstances respond to your renewed certainty. Your life becomes the outward reflection of your inner unity with God, the unseen made visible in speech.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner state: 'I am the LORD within; my heart is prepared.' Revise reactive speech to 'My words reflect the I AM’s intention,' and feel it real by imagining a calm listener affirming your truth.
