Biblical Context
A wholesome tongue brings life to the inner man. Perverseness in speech wounds the spirit.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the one who asks, what is a breach in the spirit? It is the mind insisting that life is lacking, which throws out sentences as if they were seeds. Remember, you are consciousness imagining itself as you; the tongue is but a tree of life growing from that inner state. When you speak wholesomely, you are watering the tree and calling forth nourishment; when you chatter in negativity, you prune the branches and invite decay. The I AM within you does not condemn but mirrors your inner weather. So choose to align your words with the vision of fullness you desire. See yourself as the farmer of your inner garden; claims of limitation are simply mis-remembered assumptions that need revision. Hold the conviction that every utterance is an act of creation; the breach in the spirit is the resistance of your mind to the truth that you are source. Quiet the critic, and let your speech reflect abundance, integrity, and truth. In that alignment, your outer life follows, and the tree of life bears fruit as a natural expression of your consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place your hand on your heart, and repeat, 'Wholesome words are my life; I am the tree of life.' Revise any negative thought into a blessing, and feel the truth of it by imagining a healthy tree flourishing from your chest as you speak.
