Scripture Focus

10Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Proverbs 15:10-11

Biblical Context

Proverbs 15:10-11 warns that resisting correction harms the self and exposes the heart to destructive states, as God sees into the innermost thoughts.

Neville's Inner Vision

Correction is not an attack but a whisper of the next state I am becoming. The 'way' is my present assumption. To forsake the way is to resist the truth that comes as reproof. When reproof enters, I stop and listen as if to a trusted guide within, for it is the I AM speaking through my inner teacher. To hate reproof is to cling to a stale thought; that resistance dries the springs of life and makes my heart die to possibilities. 'Hell and destruction are before the LORD'—not a punitive God but the field of light in which my thoughts are disclosed to awareness. If my heart remains closed, I experience inner ruin; if I open, I align with higher order and life reorganizes. Therefore I assume the state that welcomes correction, revise the belief that is out of accord with truth, and feel it real that I am being reformed by love. My inner heaven or hell follows my readiness to heed truth; correction becomes my compass, not my condemnation.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the state that welcomes correction as a friend of truth. Then revise a limiting belief today and feel it real as your mind becomes clear.
