Biblical Context
Proverbs 13:6-8 contrasts upright character with the downfall of the wicked and points to wealth as more than money. It hints that inner riches matter most, and outward abundance can be deceptive.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that righteousness keepeth him that is upright not by law but by the state of consciousness in which you dwell. The verse sets up an inner economy: the person who pretends to be rich while fear-silent inside is bankrupt in being; yet one who refuses to be defined by lack and lives as if his supply is secure by the I AM is truly rich. Wickedness overthroweth the sinner because the sinner rejects the inner currency of awareness. The 'ransom' of a life are his riches—that is, what saves your life is the security of your inner treasury; wealth becomes a reflection of your inner state, not a measure of coins. Be aware that you can 'make yourself rich' in appearance and yet be empty; or be poor in purse and yet possess great riches of faith, love, and perception. Your life is held by your consciousness; when you align with the I AM, abundance flows as a natural consequence of your settled state, not the scramble for external wealth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and feel yourself already secure in the uprightness of your inner state. Close eyes, repeat, 'I am the I AM wealth; abundance is my natural condition,' and dwell in that feeling until it seems real.
