Proverbs 13:4-12

Biblical Context

These verses contrast the lazy and the diligent: desire alone yields nothing, while steady effort yields abundance; true riches come from integrity, honest vision, and patient self-governance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your world is not built by coins, but by the state of your consciousness. The sluggard is the belief that wealth comes by chance; the diligent is the conviction that wealth is the fruit of disciplined imagination. When you insist that the I AM within you is already abundance, you cease searching outside and begin to act from inner assurance. Righteousness is not a rule imposed from without, but a steady alignment with truth in your own heart; lying to yourself is self-sabotage, and the wickedness spoken of is resistance to this alignment. Pride creates contention because it separates perception from its source; well-advised wisdom is simply quiet trust in the inner order. Wealth gained by vanity fades because it rests on illusion; wealth gathered by labor becomes steady life when joined to the awareness that you are the one who imagines and thus creates. Hope deferred sickens the heart until desire comes as realized feeling; then it is a tree of life, nourishing your days. Practice this: assume your needs are already met, and feel their reality until outward experience follows.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already wealthy in your inner life; feel it real for a minute, then let that feeling guide a practical action today.
