Right Thoughts and Deceptive Counsel
Proverbs 12:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse contrasts the inner state of the righteous with the deceitful counsels of the wicked; inner disposition determines the quality of guidance we yield.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the verse as a map of consciousness. When I dwell in the I AM, the thoughts that arise feel right and true; they are the inner testimony of alignment. The 'counsels of the wicked' are not outer plots but the whispers of fear, limitation, and separation that originate in a lower state. Since imagination is causative, I do not wait for outer signs—I create them by living from the right state now. The task is to occupy, not chase, the right state until right thoughts become natural. I practice revision: when a thought of lack, doubt, or craftiness arises, I replace it with a clear picture of truth and the corresponding feeling of the wish fulfilled. I let that feeling saturate my mind until it dictates my speech, decisions, and actions. Persisting in this inner alignment, deceit loses its pull and fades from my experience. The world then reflects the inner verdict: what I accept as real in consciousness appears as form in time.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the state of the righteous: repeat, 'I am the righteous; my thoughts are right,' and feel the truth as if it already is your lived reality.
