Biblical Context
Lying lips offend the LORD, while those who deal truthfully are His delight; truthfulness is the alignment between inner conviction and outward speech.
Neville's Inner Vision
To imagine that lying lips offend the LORD is to see truthfulness as a state of consciousness, not a mere habit of speech. When you entertain a lie, you reinforce a split in awareness and distance yourself from the I AM, the living God within. The LORD delights in you when your mind, your mouth, and your heart are one, in full agreement with what you hold as true. Hence, to 'deal truly' is to train the imagination to reflect integrity until truth becomes the very atmosphere you dwell in. In Neville’s terms, God is the I AM-aware presence that answers your inner motion; life conforms to your inner attitude. If you persist in truth, you restore wholeness—your outer words become faithful echoes of your inner certainty. The law of consciousness responds to your assumption: declare, again and again, that you are truth, and the inner unity will manifest as a life that aligns with that truth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: In a moment of stillness, assume you always deal truly; revise any urge to lie into a clear, truthful intention, and feel the I AM delighting in this alignment. Then open your eyes and observe how your words begin to reflect that truth.
