The verse 'through knowledge shall the just be delivered' invites you to know who you are: a coherent, compassionate I AM. When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; when the wicked prevail in speech, the city sighs, for life echoes your inner weather. 'By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted'—your steady, loving words lift outcomes; 'overthrown by the mouth of the wicked'—gossip and fear destabilize your world. He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour, but a man of understanding holds his peace. Learn to hold your peace until you are ready to speak from true insight. A talebearer reveals secrets; but a faithful spirit conceals the matter. So you cultivate inner discretion and guard your thoughts, and your life becomes a quiet, radiant city.
